This is my sixth year at St. Leo’s. I have really appreciated the opportunity to try to make physical education a happy experience for the students. Also, not to be overlooked are the opportunities that parents make available to their children outside of St. Leo. We have many good athletes at our school. It is a pleasure to see their varied talents displayed in the gym.
I received my B.S. in physical education from East Carolina University located in Greenville, N.C. After teaching in a junior high school for one year, I returned to ECU to earn Master’s degrees in counselor education and physical education. At UNCG, I took some courses in postgraduate work in physical education. Previously unrelated work has been done in traveling and the collectible world.
Before coming to St. Leo’s, I had taught physical education at the high school level, junior high level, and college level. For two years I worked with special populations in the recreation department. I have done a little bit of coaching and officiating along the way. Judo and racquetball were my most competitive sports. Presently, I play golf and am always hunting items for my golf collection.
