Welcome to Middle School Math.  I hope you had a wonderful summer, and am looking forward to hearing some of your stories about your experiences.

My summer included some changes.  I changed my name by marrying a wonderful man, Thomas Garner. He is moving back to Winston-Salem from Greenville, SC.

I have been teaching math at St. Leo for seven years.  I am excited to be here and enjoy all of the wonderful students.  I also teach part-time at Forsyth Technical Community College.  St. Leo and the school community always make me feel at home.  I have lived in North Carolina twelve years.  Most of the rest of my life I lived in Ohio, in or around Akron.  I taught at Coventry public high school for eleven years and also at the University of Akron.  I received my teaching degree from the University of Akron.  I am certified to teach math, chemistry and computer science, and am a member of the NC Middle School Association and the NCEA

In addition to a new husband, I have a wonderful family, which includes three married sons and a daughter.  I also have five beautiful grandchildren all under four years old.  I spend as much time as possible with them.   If I can find any free time, I sometimes can be seen in local theater productions.   This past summer I was in A funny thing happened on the Way to the Forum at the Stained Glass Playhouse.  Since my son was also in the production, it gave me more time to spend with him.
