Preschool Curriculum

The Preschool Program at St. Leo Catholic School is an academic program that emphasizes early childhood readiness including letter and number recognition,1:1 correspondence of numbers, communication and social skills, self help skills, gross and fine motor skills, Zoo Phonics and "I Am Special Religion Program".  The Zoo Phonics program is a multi-sensory method for teaching Phonics.  We focus on the lowercase letters in Preschool.  The "I Am Special Religion Program" provides learning experiences based on the young child's level of understanding and ability to participate.  Through the media of stories, songs, finger plays, games, dramatizations, lesson related prayers and sensory activities, children can realize God's love for them. Students also attend Spanish, Art, Music, and Fitness.

Preschool is from 8:30 to 11:30 am.  For the 2017-2018 school year, we will offer two half-day program options.  Parents choose from Monday/Wednesday/Friday or a Monday through Friday option.  We offer optional Lunch Bunch from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Our program is for children who turn three by August 31st of the year of enrollment and who are toilet trained.
