Middle School Book Reviews

In Middle School, every month you will be required to read and report on a book in a different genre.  (Genre is a French word that means “type”;  in this case, a different type of literature.)

Among the genres you will be assigned are:

·        Biography/Autobiography

·        Classics

·        Fantasy

·        Historical Fiction

·        Mystery

·        Newbery Award Winners

·        Non-fiction

·        Realistic Fiction

·        Science Fiction

By assigning different genres each month, your teachers let you experiment with types of literature you have perhaps not read before.

Sometimes students have trouble picking out a book in a genre that’s new to them.  For that reason, your fellow students in the Middle School have prepared book reviews of books in the different genres.  Follow the links above to pages of reviews in each genre.  And don’t forget:  once your book report is finished each month, you can submit a Book Review of your own to add to this review site;  that way, you can help your friends to choose books they’ll really enjoy.
