Calculator Usage: The eighth grade classes will be using graphing calculators throughout the year.  St. Leo has a classroom set of TI-83plus calculators which may be used during class.  Some students prefer to purchase their own calculators.  Students will be able to use either a TI-83plus or the

TI-84 plus during class. These are the same calculators that are being used in the area high schools. During a test, all students will be using the classroom calculators.  Any student who brings their own calculator to school needs to be sure their name is clearly marked on it in several places.

Homework Policy:  Homework is assigned to reinforce and review material that has been covered in class.  Students are expected to complete homework and bring it to class with them so we can go over all questions during the class period.  Please check answers in the back of the book before coming to class.  The web page is intended to serve as a guide for parents and students.  Please do not attempt to do an assignment before we go over the material in class.  Work must be shown as explained in class.  Tests will be posted regularly, but it is the responsibility of students to copy daily homework assignments from the homework board in the classroom.  As homework is reviewed and corrected in the classroom, it should not be handed in late.

Expectations:  Students should come to class prepared and are expected to bring all the items necessary for each class.  These include textbooks, math notebook, paper, pencils, red pen, assignments due, and any other materials the teacher requires.  All textbooks are to be covered by the end of the first week of school.  Tests must be signed by parents and returned to the teacher. Appropriate classroom behavior is expected at all times or parents will be contacted.

Tutoring:  Middle School tutoring for students who need extra help will be held every Wednesday from 3:00 – 3:45 PM.  Parents are asked to pick students up promptly at 3:45 PM.
