Innovative Technology
The Innovative Technology Curriculum by grade is as follows:
Kindergarten
Kindergarten will become comfortable with the computer. They will learn how to hold a mouse, move the mouse, click/double click the mouse, find keys on the keyboard. They do all this though games on the computer. At the end of the year, they will learn where HomeRow is to prepare them to learn to type in 1st grade.

First – Second Grade
1st and 2nd grade will learn how to type. They will place their hands correctly on the keyboard and learn which finger types which key. They also practice their mouse skills and will learn how to log on to the computer and get around to different websites.

Third Grade

Fourth Grade
4th grade will practice typing. They also practice their mouse skills and will learn how to log on to the computer and get around to different websites. They will learn basic Microsoft PowerPoint skills.

Sixth Grade
6th grade will focus on Microsoft Word. We will use skills such as formatting text, bullets/numbers, creating tables, tabs, alignment, object, and more.

Seventh Grade
7th grade focuses on Microsoft Excel. We also work through a book called Excellent Adventures to learn Microsoft Excel where we really dive into the in's and out's of the program. We will use skills such as formatting text, merge & center, column width/row height, formulas, multiple worksheets, sorting, charts, and more.

Eighth Grade
8th grade focuses on a variety of Microsoft Office programs. We also work through a book called The Restaurant Entrepreneur where each student creates their own restaurant. They use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher to complete a variety of exercises. We create a logo, help wanted ad, flyers, inventory list, business card, t-shirt design, and more.
