Faith & Service

For over sixty years, St. Leo Catholic School is a place where students learn to be active members of their faith community and responsible citizens of the world. We partner with parents to educate the whole child--intellectually and spiritually.  Our dedication to faith and service in our school is essential to shaping the character of each and every student.  Our goal is that each student remains committed to social justice throughout their life.

FAITH

St. Leo Catholic School is a vital part of St. Leo the Great Parish, and is guided by our pastor, Father Christopher Gober. Father Gober celebrates Mass with the students on Friday mornings. Father Gober was assigned to St. Leo by Bishop Peter Jugis in 2020, he also serves as Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Charlotte.  Our faith is central to our school community and curriculum.

SERVICE

St. Leo Catholic School is committed to teaching social justice.  The students are encouraged to care about the world and contribute to the community in which they live.  Outreach programs are age appropriate and vary by grade.  We partner with the Parish to collect essential items for the food pantry at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.  The Fourth Grade adopts a family each Christmas and buys gifts using funds raised in their annual bake sale.  Caring Friends is a pen pal program in which Kindergarten through Eighth Grade students are paired up with senior citizens in our Parish community and current Diocesan Seminarians. The students forge an invaluable friendship with the seniors and seminarians while gaining valuable writing skills. These are just a few examples of the many outreach programs at St. Leo.
