At St. Leo Catholic School, we take a personalized approach to admissions because we believe choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family can make.
Our admissions process gives prospective families the opportunity to experience our school firsthand while allowing our admissions team to get to know each child and determine whether St. Leo is the best fit for their academic, social, and spiritual growth.
We encourage every family to begin with a campus visit, followed by the online application process.
Applications are reviewed by our Admissions Committee throughout the year. Admission decisions begin in March. When applications exceed available space, qualified applicants are placed in a wait pool and offered admission as openings become available according to the Diocese of Charlotte priority placement guidelines.

Applications for the 2027 - 2028 school year will open on November 1, 2026
After your visit, create a FACTS account to submit your application. A non-refundable application fee of $150 per student is due at the time of application.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Active parishioners of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church who submit completed applications by December 31 receive priority consideration in accordance with our admissions priorities.

As part of the admissions process, every applicant completes an age-appropriate screening through ABC Educational. The screening helps us better understand each child's strengths and needs so we can ensure St. Leo is the right fit and prepare to support every student from the first day of school.
Families with complete applications will receive instructions in February including a form to complete to schedule the screening. Screenings for early applicants are typically held at St. Leo Catholic School, though appointments are also available at ABC Educational's Matthews office for those that apply in the spring or summer months.
Families interested in tuition assistance should submit an admissions application before applying for financial assistance.
