Our mission at St. Leo Catholic School is to educate the whole child within the framework of gospel values and Catholic traditions in order to develop responsible citizens of our nation and the world.

School Profile
St. Leo Catholic School, a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School, was built in 1953 and is the oldest Catholic school operating in the Winston-Salem area. St. Leo offers a strong Catholic education with an excellent academic program for pre-K through 8th grade. The school community strongly advocates caring, sharing, and doing for others to foster in young people a sense of positive self-worth, responsibility and accomplishment that benefit the community. Parents are to participate in a broad range of activities that support the school.
All students receive instruction in Religious Education, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, English/Language Arts, and Health/Fitness Education.
Expanded Programs with Related Arts and World Language Teachers include: Innovative Technology, Music Theater Arts, Information Literacy, Art, and Spanish. In addition, St. Leo Catholic School offers a Learning Support Program for students with identified learning needs.
St. Leo Catholic School (D02733-15) within the Catholic Diocese of Charlotte is fully accredited through Lumen Accreditation and in good standing with The Catholic University of America, effective July 1, 2024.
