FAQ

We know that each student and each family has unique needs and are seeking specific qualities in a school. You may be in the initial phase of searching for a school and the following frequently asked questions serve as a starting point.  We encourage you to call or email us at any time so that you can get to know us and our school better.

Is St. Leo Catholic School just for Catholics?
No, St. Leo Catholic School is for children of all faiths and backgrounds.  Our mission at St. Leo Catholic School is to educate the whole child within the framework of Gospel values and Catholic traditions in order to develop responsible citizens of our nation and of our world.

Is tuition assistance available?
St. Leo Catholic School meets the financial needs of families through affordable tuition rates and a tuition assistance program.  We work with FACTS Management, a third party Financial Aid Assessment company, to assess applications to ensure we are providing aid to families in need. The online application opens January 1st and applications are accepted through March 15th.

We also accept the NCSEAA Opportunity Scholarships provided through the state of North Carolina. See our Financial Aid section for more information on each.

Is there a discount offered if I am an active member of a Catholic Church?
Yes, Catholic parishes provide a subsidy for their parishioners who attend St. Leo Catholic School.  We call this the "Subsidized Tuition Rate" on our tuition schedule.  To qualify, families annually submit a Parish Subsidy Voucher signed by their Pastor.

Is there a multi-child discount?
Yes, we offer multi-child discounts on the subsidized tuition rates.  To qualify, families need to have a Parish Participation Voucher signed by their parish pastor.  Specifics are available on our Tuition Schedule.

Do you attend Mass regularly during the school year?
We attend Mass each Friday morning at St. Leo Catholic School as a school.  Throughout the year, Mass is sponsored by one of the classes (Grades K-8).  The students in the respective class serve as gift bearers, lecturers and altar servers (Grades 4-8).  Students of all faiths participate in this wonderful St. Leo tradition.  Students also attend Mass on Holy Days throughout the year.
